Audio FX Chain — Effects Rack
Drop an audio file into MiniMax Converter's FX chain and stack up to a dozen effects: reverb, delay (echo), chorus, phaser, flanger, parametric EQ, multi-band compressor, distortion, tremolo, pitch shift, more. Drag to reorder (signal flows top-to-bottom), tweak each effect's params, hit Play for real-time preview, A/B against dry source. Save the result back to the original format.
Effects included
Reverb (hall / room / plate / chamber), Delay (single / stereo / ping-pong / tape), Chorus, Phaser, Flanger, EQ (3-band, 8-band parametric, 31-band graphic), Compressor, Limiter, Distortion / Overdrive, Tremolo / Vibrato, Pitch shift, De-esser, Gate. Each has its parameters exposed via sliders / knobs.
How to use it
- Open Tools → Audio → FX rack.
- Drop your audio file.
- Click + Add effect and pick from the menu. Drag effects to reorder — signal flows top to bottom.
- Tweak each effect's parameters. Click Play to hear the result live.
- Use the Dry / Wet button to A/B against the unprocessed source.
- When happy, click Save. Output format matches source.
Signal-chain best practice
Order matters. Reverb after distortion sounds different than distortion after reverb. Common chain orders: Compressor → EQ → Modulation (chorus/phaser) → Time-based (delay/reverb) for vocals. Distortion → EQ → Delay → Reverb for electric guitar. The tool lets you try different orders quickly.
Questions and answers
Real-time preview — what's the latency?
Around 100-300ms depending on chain length. Long effect chains buffer audio for stable preview; the FX rack uses ffmpeg with a 1MB pipe buffer to keep playback smooth.
Can I save chain presets?
Yes — save your effect stack as a preset, recall later. Useful for reusable mastering chains or recurring sound-design templates.
How does this compare to a DAW (Audacity, Reaper)?
Faster for one-off processing — drop a file, stack effects, save. A DAW is necessary for multi-track production. Use FX rack for "I need to add some reverb to this voice memo".
Are the effects high-quality?
Pedalboard (Spotify's open-source effects library) under the hood — production-quality DSP. Comparable to professional plugins for the included effects.
